Size: 18" x 22" Framed
Medium: Sea Glass Art
Description: I was paired with Miss Kate for my family inspired piece ~ Kate was diagnosed at an early age with cerebral palsy which left her nonverbal and in a wheelchair by age 4, but it certainly doesn't define who she is. Kate has an infectious smile and joyful spirit ~ a sweet little social butterfly, who loves to read, loves to swing and enjoys the occasional cake pop! And although countless unknowns surround her diagnosis, Kate and her family are navigating this journey with love, patience and grace; I was honored to hear their story. Whatever comes, I know they'll meet it when it does.
In this particular piece, I used bits of sea glass, pottery, driftwood and crushed shells, all of which I found on a beach on the Chesapeake Bay. I cherish these broken pieces that have been turned by the tides, tumbled by the waves and polished into something beautiful. I wanted my piece to represent who Kate is and some of the things she loves. May there always be some "wind beneath your swing" sweet Kate.

Description: I love our trips to the Eastern Shore; I wish we could visit more often. But as many times as we've been over the years, I never tire of the view from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge tunnel. The water is beautiful and offers a kind of calm and quiet to an otherwise hurried life. It's not uncommon to pass the occasional sail boat or two along the way and I always feel like they look as if they are up to some kind of adventure!
In this picture, I used a rare (and favorite!) piece of china I found on the beach, and paired it with a couple of sea glass treasures. While true green sea glass is fairly common, the mint green used in this piece is harder to come by. I love all of my beach finds, but the rare ones are the most fun!
Size: 5" x 3.5" Framed
Description: This piece is a part of the "Clara Collection" - a collection named after my youngest daughter who inspired me to create sea glass art for tiny frames. These cute little projects are simple and charming and always so much fun! I used a piece of pottery for the base and a few beautiful pieces of green to finish it up.
